Can I come alone?
Absolutely! Many of our guests attend solo and make great friends during the weekend. Our icebreaker games and group activities are designed to help everyone feel welcome.
Is this event only for Malayalees?
No, it is for everyone.
Even though many of our attendees are Malayalees, FOMO Connect is not limited to Kerala culture.
It is a mixed, multicultural staycation open to anyone who enjoys good food, great conversations, fun activities and positive community vibes.
No language or cultural background required. Everyone is welcome.
What’s included in my booking?
Your ticket includes two nights of stay, all meals, and full access to every activity.
This covers games, music sessions, workshops, late night events and all community experiences during the staycation.
What kind of rooms are available?
All rooms are comfortable hostel-style ensuite rooms.
You will be placed based on your group size and your preferences.
Can I choose who I share a room with?
Yes! If you’re booking with friends, we’ll do our best to place you together. Just include their names during booking or message us after.
Is there parking at the venue?
Yes, free parking is available for around 30 cars. It is easy and convenient for all attendees.
Can I bring alcohol or smoke?
Yes, you can, but only in moderation.
Please be respectful of others and keep everything within sensible limits. This is a friendly community event, so we want everyone to feel safe and comfortable.
What should I pack?
Bring comfortable clothes, toiletries, towels, your ID and any personal medicines or snacks you prefer.
Pack light and simple so you can enjoy the staycation comfortably.
Are there any quiet hours?
Yes — between 11 PM and 7 AM. We want everyone to rest well and respect others nearby.
What if I have food allergies or special needs?
Let us know when booking. We’ll do our best to accommodate any dietary requirements or accessibility needs.
Is the event refundable?
Bookings are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by the organisers. You may transfer your ticket to another adult if you can’t attend.
How do I stay updated?

Are children allowed?
No. This event is strictly for adults aged 18 and above.
Is the venue accessible by public transport?
Yes. You can reach Derby by train and then take a taxi to the venue.
We also help attendees coordinate shared rides if needed.
Will there be Wi Fi?
Yes, Wi Fi is available in common areas.

FOMO Connect Staycation 2025
27–28 December 2025 | Derby, UK
This year end staycation was held as a social and cultural gathering for the Malayali community. The event included a two night ensuite stay with shared rooms, Naadan food, a Christmas feast, silent disco, live jam sessions, open mic and talkathon sessions, group games, icebreaking activities, a midnight Maggi bar, lucky draw, giveaways, and a year end celebration. The stay ran from Saturday evening to Monday morning and hosted up to 104 participants.
Mallu Strangers Night – Season 1
5–7 November 2022 – Chester, CH2 4JP
This was our first event, and it turned out to be something truly special. We shared tasty Kerala-style food, stayed together in warm rooms, and sat around the campfire singing and talking. There was live music, open mic fun, and plenty of dancing. What started as a weekend of strangers ended with new friendships and happy memories.
Mallu Strangers Night – Season 2
11–13 March 2023 – Cumbria, UK
This event brought even more fun. We had Kerala snacks, Zumba sessions, a silent disco, and evening bonfires. People went hiking and enjoyed peaceful nature. There was a lot of singing, dancing, and group games. And when the snow started falling, it felt like magic — a real highlight that made the weekend even more special.
Mallu Camp Onam – Season 1
19–21 August 2023 – Derby, DE12 6BD
This was our very first Onam staycation in the UK — full of colour, culture, and community. We enjoyed a big Onam Sadhya, flower designs (Pookalam), fun with Maveli, and a traditional outfit contest. There were outdoor games like tug of war, DJ nights, and live comedy and stage shows. Everyone had a great time and left with big smiles.
Mallu Camp Onam – Season 2
31 August – 2 September 2024 – Horsham, RH13 6RG
Our second Onam camp felt like coming home. It had a peaceful holiday feel, Kerala-style meals, campfires, music, and dancing. We played games, shared laughs, and met lots of new friends. It was full of warm moments, fun activities, and a real sense of community. Everyone left feeling connected and happy.
Mallu Camp Onam – Season 3
5 to 7 September 2025 – Devon, EX20 1QW
Season Three of Mallu Camp Onam was held in the scenic countryside of Devon and became one of our most memorable staycations. Guests enjoyed delicious meals, Onam themed activities, music, campfires and plenty of relaxed moments together. The peaceful surroundings and warm community spirit made the weekend truly special, creating beautiful memories from Friday evening to Sunday morning.
